Changing file and folder permissions?
- Last revised:
- Friday, 26 June 2009
Answer
All new extensions get automatically "User" ownership. The servers are setup to use suPHP as PHP5-handler and the files and folders are always 'owned' by the user. Files and folders get in principle always the value '755". In combination with suPHP your site has the best possible setings. If you prefer you can go further and change all files to '644' With suPHP the permissions '777' are not allowed and will lead to 500-server errors
